The City of Wetaskiwin is conducting a municipal census in 2025 to determine the total population and collect demographic data about its residents. This information will be used to plan and enhance programs and services, as well as to assess the city's growth, thereby optimizing the allocation of grant funding from other levels of government, which are frequently allocated on a per capita basis. . The statistical data from the census is also used to make informed decisions about road maintenance, fire protection, police services, utilities, recreation, and more — ensuring that City revenues are utilized efficiently, especially during periods of change. School boards, businesses, residents, and other stakeholders also use the data to guide their decision-making.
Complete your census online by May 7 to be entered to win one of four $75 gift cards to a local business of your choice or complete your census between May 8 and May 14 to be entered to win one of three $50 gift cards to a local business of your choice.
Starting on May 15, if you have not completed your census online, enumerators will be going door to door to collect census information. Enumerators will be wearing Wetaskiwin 2025 Census-branded badges and carrying tablets, as well as carrying business cards from the City's census team.
Once completed, your personal information is encrypted and stored securely under the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
